Why It Matters
The Difference Detail Makes
Watch repair done well is quiet work. Nothing flashy happens — the hands move smoothly, the crown turns cleanly, and the piece feels as it should. That is the standard we hold ourselves to.

Expertise
Trained Hands, Not General Service Counters
Both watchmakers at Brasshour trained under senior technicians before working independently. That background shapes how work is approached: methodically, with reference to the movement's design intent rather than the fastest path through it.
- Swiss and Japanese movement experience
- Manual-wind, automatic, and select quartz calibres
- Vintage reference knowledge for part-sourcing decisions
A watchmaker who knows a calibre well works differently from one who is seeing it for the first time. At Brasshour, familiarity with the movements we accept is a baseline expectation, not an occasional advantage.
A timing machine gives an objective reading of rate, amplitude, and beat error. It is a standard tool in our process, not a selling point — the data helps confirm that what we adjusted is actually working as intended.
Process & Tools
The Right Equipment for the Work
The workshop uses movement-specific tools — not generic service equipment. Each job is assessed under magnification before anything is touched, and timing machine readings are taken after any movement work is completed.
- Timing machine verification on every movement job
- Ultrasonic cleaning for parts where appropriate
- Calibre-matched hand-setting tools to avoid damage
Client Experience
Clear Communication Throughout
From the initial assessment to collection, you are kept informed. On the Collector Restoration Package, each stage is reviewed with you before work proceeds. Nothing significant happens without a conversation first.
- Written assessment notes provided before work starts
- Scope confirmation in writing for larger jobs
- Completion summary with timing data where applicable
The watches we see most often are ones their owners have been uncertain about leaving anywhere. That hesitation is reasonable. Our process is designed to make the decision easier — not by reassurance, but by transparency about what will happen and when.
Pricing at Brasshour is per-service, set before work begins. If a job turns out to be simpler than expected, the cost reflects that. There are no hidden charges, no parts markups added without discussion, and no surprise totals at collection.
Pricing
Transparent Costs from the Start
Prices are listed per service: Crown & Gasket Renewal at ฿4,200, Dial & Hands Refresh at ฿16,800, and the Collector Restoration Package at ฿32,900. These are the figures you will be quoted, and they will not change without your agreement.
- No separate assessment fee for most standard jobs
- Parts costs discussed and agreed before sourcing
- Payment accepted in Thai Baht on collection

What Sets Us Apart
Distinctive Practices at Brasshour
Apprenticeship-Rooted Training
Both senior technicians trained under masters before working independently. The approach they developed — careful, methodical, well-documented — reflects that background.
Reference Library for Vintage Work
The workshop keeps a working reference library of calibre documentation. When sourcing parts for an older movement, we work from original specifications rather than guessing.
Thai and English Documentation
Job records and completion notes are produced in English as standard, with Thai on request. Useful for visitors and for pieces that may later be serviced elsewhere.
No Work Without Your Say
On any job where the scope is not entirely clear at intake, we stop and consult before doing further work. Discovering something mid-service does not mean proceeding without discussion.
