How Every Job Begins the Same Way
Regardless of the service selected, every watch that comes into Brasshour follows the same opening steps: visual inspection under magnification, a written condition note, and a pre-agreed cost range before any tools are picked up. The service descriptions below explain what each option covers and what you can expect in terms of process, timescale, and scope.
Intake Assessment
The watch is examined and documented. Condition, function, and visible concerns are noted before the service scope is discussed.
Agreed Scope & Price
The service, its inclusions, and the cost are confirmed with you before work begins. Nothing proceeds on assumption.
Completion & Handover
After service and testing, a written completion note accompanies the watch. For movement work, timing data is available on request.
Service One
Crown & Gasket Renewal

Replacement of worn crowns, stems, and gaskets to restore everyday handling and basic resistance to moisture. A modest, practical visit for watches that have become stiff or loose to set. Includes a function check after fitting.
This service suits watches where the crown has become difficult to pull or push, turns without engagement, or feels noticeably worn. It also covers cases where gasket replacement is overdue and the owner wants to restore a basic level of moisture resistance before further wear.

- Caseback, crown, and pusher gasket replacement

Dial & Hands Refresh

Careful cleaning, and where suitable, refinishing of dials and hands to renew a tidy, even appearance. Suited to vintage and well-loved pieces showing surface wear. Original character is preserved wherever the owner prefers.
The scope and approach of this service is discussed at assessment and agreed in writing before any work begins. For pieces where the owner has a strong preference for the current look — aged lume, oxidised indices — this is noted and respected throughout.

Collector Restoration Package

An end-to-end service for treasured pieces, combining movement work, case refinishing, and part sourcing for older references. Designed for collectors who want patient, well-documented craftsmanship. Each stage is reviewed with the owner before proceeding.
This is the appropriate service for a watch with real significance to its owner — a family piece, an early reference, or a known collector model where doing the work properly matters more than doing it quickly. Parts costs are discussed and agreed separately and are not included in the base price.

- Full movement service (disassembly, cleaning, lubrication, reassembly)
- Case and bracelet refinishing to agreed level
